Angela and Julian’s Ocean Vista Wedding

They say necessity is the mother of invention.  They also say that rain on your wedding day is good luck.   Angela and Julian got to experience both on their wedding day at QAD’s corporate headquarters which overlook the stunning Santa Barbara coastline.

As experienced event professionals, we are used to accommodating last minute changes and adjustments, so when the skies opened and started raining 30 minutes prior to ceremony start time, our team quickly jumped to action and packed the entire ceremony site to move it upstairs and indoors to the main lobby.   Dinner was provided under one of the existing awnings.  Necessity created the invention of new locations very last minute, and all went well, with happy and glowing bride and groom.

One of the special elements of Angela and Julian’s love story is that

Kassia and Nathan’s Romantic Rockwood Wedding

Family and friends pulled together for many elements of  Kassia and Nathan’s romantic wedding at Rockwood Woman’s Club (check out the gorgeous floral design).   And with one of Santa Barbara’s most experienced wedding planners Ann Johnson at the helm, this event was full of charm and beauty.

Under the canopy of the historic ceremonial oak tree on the Rockwood terrace the couple said “I do” and then joined friends and family for a lovely cocktail reception, followed by an evening of dinner and dancing in the elegant vintage main indoor site.  Kassia and Nathan chose a menu which nodded to California’s Spanish heritage (see below) and all topped off with a little something sweet from Crushcakes.

Kayla & Jeff’s Heartstone Ranch Wedding Celebration

With bride and groom both being nurses, it was a special honor to care for them and their families the day of their wedding.  Kayla and Jeff chose a long time Santa Barbara area private estate favorite: Heartstone Ranch in the foothills of Carpinteria, which boasts a ranch-style feel but has panoramic views of the ocean and our gorgeous Channel Islands.   Because Kayla’s family are largely local and invested in a long-time well-known family business, they decided to rent out Heartstone for the whole weekend so some of their family and friends could stay there with them in that gorgeous house and enjoy a weekend of celebration and connection.   And here’s a little behind-the-scenes bit of trivia:  DJ Bonnie & Co actually DJ’d the father of the bride’s wedding , so having her for Kayla’s wedding was extra special.  When there is so much connection with our clients, they feel like family.

Olivia & Ashwin’s Colorful Vegan & Vegetarian Cate School Wedding

This wedding had a few special twists:  not only was it hosted at one of the finest prep schools in our nation, the wedding couple partook of a lovely tea ceremony while guests relaxed floorside on comfie pillows under the sky.  They also provided their own overlays for the reception tables:  souvenirs they acquired during their travels, bringing a personal touch to their wedding day story.   The colors for this wedding were magnificent and were only rivaled by the vibrant joy of the the newlyweds and their guests, as evidenced in the photos.

Olivia and Ashwin  requested an all vegan/vegetarian wedding.   With all the abundant ingredients and luscious flavors available for some vegetarian deliciousness in Southern California, this menu was a Vegan/Vegetarian’s delight.  We loved producing it!

Congratulations to Olivia and Ashwin!

Courtney and Josh’s Ojai Private Home Wedding

A Santa Barbara wedding includes all the wonderful areas surrounding it.  Just south of Santa Barbara up the mountains from Ventura is the charming mountain village of Ojai.  Known for “pink moment” sunsets that paint all the mountains in a pink hue, Ojai has one world-class resort, a few small inns and a community of lovely homes.   Courtney and Josh chose to say their vows and celebrate in their private home with a classic Chevy Impala.  Can you say sexy?

The lively menu celebrating the Spanish heritage of California also was conveyed in the tablescape decor with bright colors reminiscent of summer and celebration.
