Holiday Party Magic for Logic Monitor | When Snow Comes to Santa Barbara

Let’s be honest, the holidays are more romantic with snow.  But in Santa Barbara, where palm trees sway and the average winter temperature is 65 degrees by day and 45 by night, snow doesn’t really happen.  So sometimes you have to create your own magic.  And that’s exactly what Bella Vista Designs did for our corporate client Logic Monitor for their holiday party with their snow machine and specialty lighting.  Throw in some fabulous music for a celebratory vibe, fun photobooth and a cookie decorating station, all held at one of Santa Barbara’s most iconic event venues tucked under a magic canopy, and that’s a recipe for a successful party employees will remember for years to come.

We love the menu with which Logic Monitor chose to delight their guests – check out the yummy dessert items, including our famous S’mores Tarts!

Corporate Office Event Fun for Logic Monitor

Studies have proven and experts agree:  making the work environment fun is necessary for top-notch production from staff.  That, and the most important meal of the day is breakfast, so put those two together and voila!  Successful and happy employees!   Logic Monitor knows this and as you can see from the photo to the right here, they are a very happy working group (and we’re betting by that high jump, it was because they were fueled with an exceptionally fabulous breakfast).   What better way to start your work morning than with the menu featured below ( hello, bacon!) and a Champagne Bar with delicious fruit juices and fresh berries?

Mijntje and Aaron’s Dos Pueblos Orchid Farm Greenhouse Wedding Celebration

You know what makes a distinct wedding experience (besides unforgettable cuisine, of course)?  Suspended guest assignment table charts magically swaying overhead, a sweetly decorated bicycle, explosive pops of color everywhere, a beautiful wine blessing, edible centerpieces, and a couple in love celebrating their nuptials with family and friends… all in a greenhouse.

This wedding was the first of a series of 3 for us at Dos Pueblos Ranch – if you haven’t checked out this incredibly diverse venue including ocean-front site options, a barn, a private estate and this fabulous greenhouse, you need to see it right away.  It is one of the most popular (and booked) event venues in Santa Barbara.

Caitlin and Boyan’s Early Spring Wedding at The Santa Barbara Historical Museum

Caitlin and Boyan brought some unique touches to their wedding at the lovely and incredibly versatile downtown Santa Barbara Historical Museum.   This beautiful wedding venue has several outdoor event spaces that allow many options for one’s event, all while offering the historical Spanish vibe that makes Santa Barbara so inviting.   Offering some European-styled elements to their wedding celebration, Caitlin and Boyan opted for one long feasting table to bring guests together and incorporated an old Bulgarian wedding custom of breaking bread over the groom’s mother’s head.  The tradition is based on another Bulgarian tradition of whomever steps on the other’s foot first after being married is said to be the one who will dominate in the marriage.  With the bread, the tradition includes the mother of the groom holding the bread over her head and asking the couple to each pull a side.  Whomever gets the larger piece of bread from the tear is said to be the dominating partner.  After the bread break, the festivities of dancing and celebration begin!

Stacy & Danny’s Rockwood Woman’s Club Wedding

While we have produced many weddings at one of Santa Barbara’s favorite wedding location jewels Rockwood Woman’s Club, no two are alike and we have traditionally focused on the uniqueness of this special venue in our write-ups.  We could continue to do so here in this BLOG for Stacy and Danny’s special day  by reminding readers of the perfect shady setting for saying vows and ease of being able to segue into the gorgeous Spanish-architectured building for the reception celebration, which is just steps away;  or we could remind readers of the convenient on-site complimentary parking and a site that allows for many layout options.  But because Stacy and Danny hired one of the best photography teams around, we thought we’d let the photos speak for themselves (make sure you check out their fabulous “Record Shop” photobooth) as well as what brings everyone together at any memorable event:  the food and beverage experience featuring one of our most popular entrées:  our Citrus Salmon with Orange Relish (details below).

Shelly and Andrew’s Intimate Lavender Inn Garden Wedding

Intimate weddings held at charming B&B’s have always been en vogue, but at no time have they had more popularity than right now.  Luckily, we live in a destination vacation hot spot with many charming inns and bed and breakfasts. But not all of them handle weddings, so if you are searching for the ideal intimate inn for your wedding, reach out to us and we can help guide you with some suggestions.

Shelly and Andrew chose The Lavender Inn in the mountains of Ojai (about 45 minutes southeast of Santa Barbara), and it is one of our specialty wedding locations.  Here family or a few wedding guests can all stay in the same location, making the ease of the wedding day seamless, as it is almost as if one is hosting the wedding in one’s own home.  For couples whose friends and family are coming from far distances (or don’t have the time to see each other regularly), this can be a welcome retreat, allowing lots of engagement and connection during the entire wedding weekend.

Mirna and Casey’s Ojai Mountain Retreat Wedding

You know it’s going to be a gorgeous wedding when the soft hues the bride has chosen for her maids and decor mirror that of the surrounding mountains.

But just because the colors were perfectly matched and complementary, don’t let that trick you into thinking this bride and groom were pretentious and didn’t know how to have fun (check out their lego art wedding art piece below).

Hosted at a hilltop bed and breakfast with panoramic views in the mountains of Ojai (just roughly a 15 minute drive from Ventura and 40 minutes from Santa Barbara), the setting provided an intimate, unique, and memorable oasis for Mirna and Casey to celebrate their vows with friends and family under the incredible Ojai skies and into the night under starry gems.   The venue, Ojai Retreat Inn, is located in the heart of the Ojai Valley and is a secluded wooded venue with meandering pathways leading to various accommodations, including a main house. Besides a beautiful private event location, it allows guests to stay on site, making the wedding event truly a destination experience.

Chris and Victoria Say I Do In Dramatic Style at Solvang Theaterfest

Chris and Victoria’s theater wedding in Santa Barbara’s wine country at the legendary outdoor Solvang Theaterfest was nearly all DIY and also one of the most charming (and dramatic) weddings we have seen in a long time.  This is a great reminder that it is all about the unique venue one chooses, delicious food and beverage experience bringing friends and family together, and a fabulous photographer to capture the memories.  Sometimes simplicity can be the most memorable, if you focus on the key ingredients (pun intended) that are most important to you and do them right.

Kat and Cole’s Simply Sweet Wedding at Rockwood

Not all weddings are over-the top in decor and design- and some of the best focus on the perfection of the setting that already exists, embellish it with a few lovely personal touches and then make the moment a day filled with love and family, and bring it all together with delicious cuisine for all to savor.  With a location such as Rockwood nestled in the foothills of the American Riviera, and a great event partner team, Kat and Cole celebrated their nuptials in perfect style.

Welcome Reception On The Santa Barbara Harbor

Because Katie and Faris grew up in Santa Barbara and lived in New York, they wanted their wedding to be a true reflection of both states, according to their wedding and wedding weekend event planner Jessica Kuipers of Onyx and Redwood.  “Having the guests enjoy a sunset cruise on our West Coast shore for their Welcome Reception was a no brainer,” she said.

Client Reviews

Philippe is phenomenal!! I requested quotes and communicated with various catering companies but when I talked with Philippe I just knew that he would be the man for the job. He did not disappoint. He is very professional and he knows what he's doing, I trusted him very much throughout the planning process. As a caterer he went above and beyond, he went with us to pick out rentals and decide on colors and place settings, decide on our table layout, and he gave his professional opinion when asked. He met with us countless times and was super fast at responding to emails and questions. The day before the wedding Philippe and his team helped set up the venue and the day of they helped our coordinator set up the last minute details. Philippe and his entire staff made the planning process a breeze and all of our guests RAVED about how good the food was. You will be severely missing out if you do not choose catering connection for your wedding or next event!!

We rent out our auditorium at the Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History and there was a company having their Holiday Party last Saturday. Due to an electric pole being knocked down in the middle of the night the evening before, all electricity was out. Catering Connection along with SMI Concepts were on top of it from the beginning, bringing in power and working in the dark for hours setting up and making sure the customer had a great evening (of course the electricity came on 1/2 hour after the party started.) Without Catering Connection's support and heroic efforts to make it happen, the party could not have gone on. Plus the food was a hit, the set up and breakdown smooth. I've never seen the auditorium as clean after and event. I highly recommend Catering Connection for all your events.

Catering connection far exceeded my expectations as to what a wedding caterer could offer- their service, attention to detail and food quality was second to none. So many guests commented that this was by far the best food they have ever had at a wedding. I had the pleasure of working with Phillipe who was a dream from start to finish. His extensive experience in the food- catering world offered a wealth of knowledge about all things food and entertaining. He helped me come up with a fun an creative menu and worked with me every step of the way to create the wedding of my dreams. I plan to use catering connection for any event, big or small, in the future. It felt like I was planning a party with a friend, who also happened to be an expert in this field. The servers and bartenders they provided were incredibly professional, attentive and polite.

I've read a few reviews and a lot of them say it all.
Ursula, and the crew, were more than caterers. Depending on what was needed, she was a wedding planner, she was very patient, a friend, a guide and, she made you feel like nothing could go wrong on your special day. I can't overstate how "above and beyond" Catering Connection goes. And MY GOODNESS....the food was fantastic!
The food, professionalism of the crew, accuracy of the quotes, communication along the way is all enough for a 5 star recommendation. If there was a way to give 10 stars for the intangibles I would click away. They care, they make it special, and no detail gets left behind. We opted for a plated salad and a buffet and the main courses were as good, or better, than any sit down restaurant in the area.
Like the other reviews said - look no further or you may regret it. This is your best value. This is the best team. Any other choice is simply irrational!

From the minute we met with Philippe we knew we had the right catering company. The customer service prior and at the wedding were outstanding. He and his staff were attentive not only to my groom and myself but specifically our head table which included our parents. Also the food was outstanding as we had BBQ Tri Tip, Chicken and sides. He customized it to just what we wanted. Philippe is very in tune with details and helped coordinate the party rentals as well. Overall an outstanding experience and we would highly recommend using them.
