Zehan and William’s Gainey Vineyard Wedding Celebration

One of the best things we enjoy about what we do is that we have the privilege of serving clientele from all different cultures, religions and backgrounds.   Sometimes we infuse this into their menu story, sometimes they want to stay true to some delicious California cuisine with a nod to our Southern California heritage, which is what Zehan and William chose to do, as you will see by their menu below.

With their ceremony in half Chinese and half English, the joy that was present during their vows is best shown in the photo to the right.  After the ceremony, guests adjourned to the Barrel Room for a grazing board of delectable edibles in the warm, romantic glow only winery barrel rooms can provide.  One of the biggest hits of the night was the Photo Booth, which was always full.

It was a pleasure producing Zahen and William’s wedding day and we wish them every happiness in their new life together.

Katelyn and Jake’s Romantic Carousel Wedding

Event Story Vignette:  When you hire a full-service caterer who is intimately familiar with all of the best locations in an area, you are making an investment in “insurance” for your wedding.  Catering Connection’s own Philippe Berger was quick on his feet when the weather was predicted to change at Katelyn and Jake’s original Santa Barbara outdoor park location.  He swiftly found  the whimsical and romantic Carousel House at Chase Palm Park (right across from the beach) and went to work to re-design and configure the set up to ensure this couple had their dream wedding (and check out the photos – we think he greatly succeeded).  While it did not end up raining as hard or at the time originally predicted, the setting could not have been more perfect, and everyone stayed dry and comfortable.

Angela and Julian’s Ocean Vista Wedding

They say necessity is the mother of invention.  They also say that rain on your wedding day is good luck.   Angela and Julian got to experience both on their wedding day at QAD’s corporate headquarters which overlook the stunning Santa Barbara coastline.

As experienced event professionals, we are used to accommodating last minute changes and adjustments, so when the skies opened and started raining 30 minutes prior to ceremony start time, our team quickly jumped to action and packed the entire ceremony site to move it upstairs and indoors to the main lobby.   Dinner was provided under one of the existing awnings.  Necessity created the invention of new locations very last minute, and all went well, with happy and glowing bride and groom.

One of the special elements of Angela and Julian’s love story is that

Naya and Kevin’s Firestone Winery Wedding: A Food Station & Guest-Interactive Experience

Naya and Kevin are food industry professionals and as such, wanted a more relaxed vibe at their Santa Barbara wine country wedding at the renowned Firestone Winery and Vineyards.  To accomplish this, we did a combination of tables for seated dining, as well as tall cocktail tables for standing, which encouraged more mixing and mingling.  We also provided food stations, which provided guest engagement and delighted the senses, as well as some fun conversation about the featured live flatbread station with onsite wood fire oven (see flatbread menu below).

Rachel and William’s Romantic Greenhouse Wedding Celebration

If we had to choose one word to describe the vibe of Rachel and William’s wedding day, it would be “joy”.  There was laughter from start to finish as friends and family gathered at the historic Santa Barbara property Rancho Dos Pueblos Orchid Farm Greenhouse to celebrate.   And what goes better with bringing people together to celebrate on a farm than delicious cuisine featuring some of our most popular farm-fresh & seasonal Italian dishes, topped off with decadent dessert options like Chocolate Bliss wedding cake as well as a mini-dessert buffet, including Tiramisu?

We loved every elegant touch of this wedding (check out the gorgeous natural light by day in the greenhouse and how it segued to pure magic by night with the specialty lighting by Bella Vista Designs in the photos below) and wish Rachel and William every happiness in their new joy-filled life together!

Kassia and Nathan’s Romantic Rockwood Wedding

Family and friends pulled together for many elements of  Kassia and Nathan’s romantic wedding at Rockwood Woman’s Club (check out the gorgeous floral design).   And with one of Santa Barbara’s most experienced wedding planners Ann Johnson at the helm, this event was full of charm and beauty.

Under the canopy of the historic ceremonial oak tree on the Rockwood terrace the couple said “I do” and then joined friends and family for a lovely cocktail reception, followed by an evening of dinner and dancing in the elegant vintage main indoor site.  Kassia and Nathan chose a menu which nodded to California’s Spanish heritage (see below) and all topped off with a little something sweet from Crushcakes.

Mijntje and Aaron’s Dos Pueblos Orchid Farm Greenhouse Wedding Celebration

You know what makes a distinct wedding experience (besides unforgettable cuisine, of course)?  Suspended guest assignment table charts magically swaying overhead, a sweetly decorated bicycle, explosive pops of color everywhere, a beautiful wine blessing, edible centerpieces, and a couple in love celebrating their nuptials with family and friends… all in a greenhouse.

This wedding was the first of a series of 3 for us at Dos Pueblos Ranch – if you haven’t checked out this incredibly diverse venue including ocean-front site options, a barn, a private estate and this fabulous greenhouse, you need to see it right away.  It is one of the most popular (and booked) event venues in Santa Barbara.
