Leanne and Nick’s Home-Centered Wedding

Home is said to be the dearest spot on earth.  It is where life happens.  It is a shelter, a grounding place to recoup and recover from the world, and a gathering place where those whose hearts we hold dearest come together.  It is where all the juicy goodness that makes up life happens.  So choosing to say one’s vows at home makes incredible sense.  And when the home is as beautiful as Leanne and Nick’s , it was the perfect setting for a heart-felt, gorgeous day of special touches and celebration.

Every part of this wedding involved family and the fundamental core of “home” , which was woven in every aspect of the decor and design by wedding coordinator Rani Hoover.  Even the menu (arguably our favorite part of any event) was comfort food reminiscent of home-style favorites with a nod to traditional country fare and infused with a little Southern California flare.

We wish Leanne and Nick best wishes for a beautiful new life together and many more happy years in their beautiful home.  It was truly a pleasure catering their wedding day.

Tanya and Mauricio: Savoring A Bit of The “Droplet of Human History” With Firestone Wine & Nuptials

To take wine into our mouths is to savor a droplet of the river of human history,” said the New York Times in 1967.  So it stands to reason that as timeless as wine is, so is the winery wedding experience, where one is surrounded by the very vines that provide that “river of human history” to the world who chooses to savor it.   These Santa Barbara wine country vines produce wines that will be opened and savored in various locales for all sorts of  reasons all over the world.  So, when Tanya and Mauricio said “I do” in the middle of the essence of what makes history, it was no wonder their wedding day was an ideal event to enjoy a bit of that history-making… all while they made their own as husband and wife.    We were proud to be a part of it.   These newlyweds took full advantage of the epic wine country atmosphere and delicious Firestone wines and then flavored the evening with a delicious Mexican buffet to give tribute to the local rich Mexican history & heritage associated with Santa Barbara, giving their guests an experience that they would not soon forget.

Love On an Ojai Ranch: Karin & Brad’s Ojai Wedding

ojai wedding ceremonyCelebrities have been quietly escaping to the mountains of Ojai for many years.  With its secluded boutique inns, a world-class resort, shops, dining, a slowed-down pace,  and all the quiet necessary to recover from the world’s noise, no wonder it is such a popular destination for weddings.  Karin and Brad chose a private estate -a quiet Ojai ranch – for their nuptials, and the backdrop did not disappoint.  For their menu, they chose to concentrate on southwestern-inspired cuisine, which complemented the Mexican/Californian influence surrounding them, and what Mexican/California menu is complete without margaritas!

On Choosing Your Preferred Caterer for Your Special Event

special event catererChoosing a caterer is perhaps the most important element of planning an event (after you’ve selected your venue), but can be a bit overwhelming.  And if  you’re planning an event in a world-renowned special event dream location like Santa Barbara, there are many choices.   We’ve found that carefully guiding clients through the process of good questions to ask helps make the planning process much smoother and even enjoyable.

Consider the following points when choosing your caterer:

A caterer’s core talent is the luscious food they create, but not all caterers are created equally.   Your favorite restaurant may cook your favorite food and do it to perfection and offer to “cater” your wedding;  but there is so much more to catering an intricate production such as a wedding, that their culinary skills in the restaurant may not shine – and in fact- may fail completely off site.  Choose a full-service caterer who has not only experience catering large events off site, but also knows all the rentals that will be needed for the satellite kitchen, guest dining and so much more.   Your event is a reflection of you as the host, so having not only an impeccable meal, but flawless service and all the equipment necessary to deliver it all is paramount.

Elvia & Robert’s Santa Barbara Beach Wedding At Cabrillo Arts Pavilion

wedding party having funA Santa Barbara beach wedding experience is one to remember for a lifetime.  Couples come from all over the world to say “I do” with toes in the sand (or with the beach in the background at one of the many ocean-view wedding locations offered) and to dine and dance the night away as the sun sets over the water and boats sail almost on cue in the background.   Elvia and Robert invited friends and family to one of our favorite Santa Barbara beach wedding locations:  the Cabrillo Arts Pavilion, where they said their vows on the beach under a lovely arbor (check out the sailboat cruising behind them in the photos below) and then made their way to the ocean -view pavilion for a delicious dinner and dancing.   Check out their special “guest book” – a rustic wood/art piece guests signed that they will hang in their home to enjoy for many years to come . Congratulations, Elvia and Robert!  We loved being your caterer on your most special day!

Erika and Brandon’s Wine Country Golden Hour Wedding at Firestone

Nature showcases Santa Barbara’s wine country at its finest in the late afternoon hour to dusk.  Everything is bathed in a golden hue.  The typical afternoon valley wind calms down just in time for couples saying, “I do”, and a gentle breeze starts flowing. The age-old oaks look down on lovers making their lifetime promise, while family and friends surround them for an evening of celebration under the stars with incredible food and wine.

These are just some of the reasons weddings in the Santa Ynez Valley will always be a favorite of ours.  That, and wine country just goes so well with a fresh, locally-inspired menu that celebrates this region.

Stacy & Chris’s Radiant Private Home Wedding Celebration

Happiness radiates like the fragrance from a flower and draws all good things toward you.” – Maharishi Mahesh Yogi  |  Stacy and Chris’ wedding was filled with happiness – and gorgeous, abundant blooms raining joy and happiness on a very special day and couple.  Of course, good, plentiful food is said to create much happiness, too.  Never let it not be said that food also draws all good things to you!  And that’s why we do what we do.

There is something to be said about a wedding in a private home. This particular wedding was held at the bride’s grandmother’s home, lending a special, intimate and personal nature to it.  Nestled in the hills of Carpinteria, guests enjoyed a delightful panoramic view on a gorgeous day feasting on an abundant buffet using our standard of always local and fresh ingredients,  and then they danced the night away under the stars.  Our heartfelt congratulations to these two newlyweds and their families!

A “Wedding for a Cause” : A White, Welcome & Wine Country Wedding 3-Day Celebration

Our wedding story today starts out with three separate stages- all setting the scene for a celebration of love and triumph that lasted three days in Santa Barbara’s beautiful wine country, the Santa Ynez Valley.

Like most couples, Michelle and AJ wanted something unique and to spend time with friends and family , who were all coming to their destination wedding;  however, unlike most couples, they had a special cause for extra celebration, as the the groom AJ had battled – and beat- cancer.  All event partners agreed to donate a portion of their profits to cancer research and we are proud to say that they raised over $78K, which was $38K over goal.  This three day event was truly a celebration of life and it was our honor to bring everyone together over delicious food that suited each gorgeous venue and theme.  Day One: The White Party, where everyone gathered at Sunstone Villa (wearing white of course) for some light , fun fare and games ;   Day Two:  The Welcome Reception at Gainey Winery  and Day Three:  The Wedding back at Sunstone Winery and Villa.

Rose & Jason’s Intimate Private Estate Wedding

Rose and Jason had a gorgeous private estate wedding with lots of special touches.  One of our favorites was that rather than a guest book, they had guests put a message in a bottle and write the year anniversary that they, the newlyweds, should open the special message.  Their family-style served dinner went perfectly with the Santa Barbara summer evening and surroundings (check out the Mediterranean Potato accompaniment below) and was topped off with delicious wedding cake from Christine Dahl Pastries.

Vibrant Santa Barbara Historical Museum Wedding Celebration
