Relaxed Historic Elegance at Santa Barbara Historical Museum

The Santa Barbara Historical Museum allows guests to feel like they have stepped back into the old spanish days of its history.  It boasts a romantic courtyard, private side courtyard for ceremonies and walking-convenience to many of Santa Barbara’s leading boutique hotels and restaurants, making it a favorite destination wedding choice for Santa Barbara wedding couples, who want their guests to savor the whole Santa Barbara experience.

This particular wedding featured lots of charming touches, (including a Dog of Honor) coordinated by Soigné Productions and the photos below tell the story of this wedding where personal touches abounded (check out the VW Photo Bus)!

Sound Healing Wedding at Dos Pueblos Orchid Farm

Dos Pueblos Orchid Farm is a paradise for nature lovers.  Unpretentious and a blank canvas for creativity that pops with nature as a backdrop, it is no wonder bohemian-chic brides seek out this Santa Barbara wedding location.  And when wedding planner Jamie Kostechko is at the helm, you know you are bound to see some unique style throughout the event.

The day started off with a sound healing exercise and “bath” (described as a
“massage” of sound washing over you and relaxing you).  Later on, during the actual wedding and reception celebration, festivities revved up with a picture-perfect day for “I do” with the California coastline behind by day and stars dancing overhead by night as guests feasted on a sumptuous California-style dinner buffet and danced the night away.

Kelly & David’s Funkzone-Fun Winery Wedding Celebration

Santa Barbara features hundreds of wedding locations – many historical, some modern;  but few have the eclectic and funky, unique charm of the up and coming FunkZone.  Featuring wineries, breweries, “it” restaurants, galleries and fun shops, this is an easy stroll over from lower State Street by the railway tracks.  Tucked in the FunkZone is Carr Winery, one of our favorite FunkZone locations for private events.  Why do we like Carr Winery so much?  To name a few items:  a warm welcome area with areas to sit and activities for guests; a large open room with flexibility for set-up styles all framed with towering  stacked wine barrels.  You really feel like you are in a wine “cavern” when hosting an event at Carr. It is romantic and unique.

Veronica & Rick’s Intimate Inn Wedding in Ojai

We love intimate inn weddings.   The Lavender Inn in Ojai, California offers its guests a charming backdrop in a small town nestled in the mountains just above Ventura.  This hidden gem boasts colorful gardens with vows exchanged under age-old, majestic oak trees.  And if your wedding is under 20 guests, you can book the cottage and the private patio that goes with it for your own intimate soirée celebration.

Veronica and Rick wanted to spend quality time with friends and family and kept things simple and streamlined , enjoying some photo opps downtown Ojai with their photographer, and wrapping up the evening’s festivities with a deluxe ice cream sundae bar.

Vinyl Records, Gnomes , Sweets & Winery Romance In the Funk Zone

So many fun touches for Elisa and Peter’s wedding day!  From her gorgeous, flirtatious and feminine wedding dress, to guests signing vinyl records instead of a traditional guest book, to the passed heavy appetizers instead of a formal sit-down dinner, this wedding was light-hearted, unique and romantic all in one.   The meal style they chose allowed for maximum guest engagement and enjoying each other’s company at the intimate and romantic Carr Winery, located in Santa Barbara’s up and coming trendy Funk Zone.

Santa Barbara Courthouse Mural Room Ceremony + A Charming & Trendy Loft Reception

You’ve got to love a good Father/Daughter Dance.  And when Cerita and her dad broke out in a fun, choreographed routine, it added a fun moment they – and their  guests  – will always remember (see photo below).  Cerita and Jonathan chose to host their wedding in the gorgeous Mural Room of the Santa Barbara County Courthouse and then escape to the tower for some romantic photos overlooking Santa Barbara;  while they were busy enjoying the panoramic views, we were busy at The Narrative Loft preparing for their arrival via Santa Barbara Trolley for a delicious wedding dinner celebration.  Clients love The Narrative Loft, which resembles all the charm and uniqueness of an intimate loft downtown New York City, but with the convenience and ease of arrival that only a Santa Barbara venue can offer.  With cowboy boots on the bridesmaids, a ranch-style dinner menu in an original setting, this wedding celebration was a relaxed and comfortable (but fun) gathering.

Vintage Dairy Farm (Lincourt Winery) Vineyard Wedding with Churros and Chocolate

Lincourt Vineyards, formerly a dairy farm and turn-of -the-century Sears craftsman home, holds one of the most charming and alluring wedding locations in Santa Barbara’s wine country, the Santa Ynez Valley.   Unpretentious, easy-to-access,  and surrounded by sweeping views of the Santa Ynez mountain range and quiet country roads, this outdoor wedding location is a shining star for evening celebrations under the blazing starry gems in the sky.

While we love all our deliciously fresh menus our clients choose (yes, perhaps we are a little biased- but our reviews and love notes from clients will concur), we especially loved seeing the delight on guests’ faces when we surprised them with passed freshly-made warm churros and chocolate dipping sauce at this particular wedding. Special touches including lit up initials for decor and the newlywed’s new monogram projected on the barn made this Lincourt Winery wedding pop!

Cara & Preston’s Sparkling Ever After at Santa Barbara Woman’s Club (Rockwood)

We loved the light, summery airy pinks used in the decor and feel of Cara and Preston’s wedding at Santa Barbara Woman’s Club (Rockwood).  The gentle look complemented the natural setting of the wood , trees and leaves at Rockwood.  While Rockwood is so versatile, and there are many event layout options, we love it when clients mix up table shape and size – the square tables mixed with traditional rounds they chose for guest dining lent a unique and fresh look to the overall impression.  The menu these newlyweds chose included several of our most popular and traditional dishes, especially appropriate for a Santa Barbara fresh culinary experience for guests.

Moonlight, Orchids & Glow | Michelle and Sam’s Wedding Celebration

Magic is always pushing and drawing and making things out of nothing. Everything is made out of magic, leaves and trees, flowers ….and people….So it must be all around us.”         -The Secret Garden

And so it was that an orchid farm greenhouse was magically transformed for the wedding celebration of Michelle and Sam and all their family and friends while the moon cast her benediction on the nuptials and night. From vibrant colors (including orchids, of course), leaves, trees, flowers (and even the beach) to special, personal touches and elegant decor, everything about this Santa Barbara wedding was perfection.
